Boris Johnson gets rid of Gavin Williamson as education secretary

What we're doing is uh the right thing to get our all our students or pupils back on march the 8th i think that that is what parents teachers and overwhelmingly what pupils want to to do and i've just been talking to uh some of them here at akronton academy and they are really looking forward to it they've done very well learning remotely

They've stuck with it it's been uh productive and you know and got better i think over the course of the lockdowns but the best place uh for kids is in school and the they've got absolutely no doubt about it uh the pupils themselves you still have full confidence in him then of course yes i think if in an ideal world you would have um not have taken kids out of school because of the

The pandemic we wouldn't have been forced to do this and in an ideal world we'd be continuing with exams as uh you normally have them and the best place for kids is in the classroom the best way to uh to check on kids progress is with with normal exams but i think this is as good a a compromise as we can come to i think it will be fair i think it will be durable

And it's the it's the right way forward
